Default Parking brake leaks down after setting

After setting the master cylinder lever lock on my 04 650le it loses pressure overnight ; but it works fine for brakeing, Was this type of master cylinder designed to hold pressure as a parking brake ? Had it replaced newone does the same as original leaks off after setting. Forgot to mention it leaks no fluid.

i have an o4 650 and it has never done that. Maybe you have a bad seal somewhere or are low on brake fluid.

The brake is not designed to hold for long periods of time. That is a common situation, the manual says not to use this as a long term parking brake.

Besides anybody with a Marlin and and Arctic Cat isn't very bright. I just can imagine anyone having both a Marlin and an AC, the guy has got to be as dumb as a stick, or as me (i've only got 3 Marlins right now and 2 Cats) . And why aren't you a member over on the Marlinowners forum?

Well thats a good point to know guess I'll have to anchor it to a tree when parking it on a hillside.

If you had a manual tranny you can leave it in low range and first gear. But 650's only come with an auto, so wheel chocks or a rope work.

my 03 500 did the same and the dealer said that i should not use it for overnight parking.
that it will leak down and when you release it you will have to pump it up a few times to get it to come all the way up.
when i parked it on a hill or any time i parked it for a long time i would put a rock or something under the wheels.
i only used the park brake when i had it in my truck for short distances.
