hello all I have a 97 Arctic Cat 454 2x4..when I run hard and come to
a stop the bike starts to backfire and then it dies??? what up with that???

 

Sounds like you are getting a lot of heat into the carb and leaning things out and boiling the fuel off, or have a fuel flow problem. Check tank vent, install inline fuel filter and pull carb, probably has crap in it. If that doesn't fix it you need to check engine temp.
