I need help getting offthe rear spring off of the shock. On the top the retainer screws will not go by the resevior mount where it screws into the shock body and on the bottom the smaller washer will not go by the nut that you use to turn the bottom off the shock off.If I am missing something please let me know. Thanks for any help.

 

On the bottom of the spring there is a "cup" the spring rests in. you need to smash the spring and that cup upwards and there is a large "C" shaped washer under that cup that locks it all together; the "C" washer/retainer just falls right out when you get the tention off that cup.

I got that clip off but on mine I have another washer that rests on top of 16 and 11 on the pic and those are on the shock shaft just under the rubber bumper. So not being able to take that washer off I cant take off number 17 which holds the spring on. I may have to cut a notch out of the that one washer to beable to slide it off. I think it is not shown in the pic cause it says at the bottom that it is an 83 and mine is an 86. If yo have any other ideas let me know. Thanks
