Simply put how did people screw around at work without the internet???

I mean they didn't actually work all 8 hours did they??

 

Try 10 hours a day, and no computer, or phone....just working. Now and then , we'd gab a bit,but only 10 minutes or so at a time. I cant understand why a business would allow any personal shopping, cruising or chatting, online. My boss calls it the great time waster.

In the offices, they used to sit at their desk, drink coffee, smoke cigarettes, hang around the water cooler and watch the skirts go by.

I'm a work poster as well. I keep enough stuff on my desk to make it look like I'm busy. Not much room for advancement here so it's not like I gotta work my @ss off to impress people. And I get a pretty good compensation package. When it comes down to it, I do work my butt off and get the work done that needs to get done. It just comes in wave. Though I do get a bit bored when the site acts up or it's going slow.
