Drum brakes locked Up little help

Drum brakes locked Up little help
My daughter alpha mini 50 drum braked locked up, she left the emergency brake on and it siezed up I can't move the back tire. Is my only bet to take it off and clean it? thanks

Drum brakes locked Up little help
If the shoes were that hot, they are probably glazed over. You are going to need to sand them to rough the surface . You might want to replace the shoes to be safe. Have your daughter assist.. it will remind her the next time, and be a good bonding experience.
