raptor 660 used for hunting deer
#1
it's getting close to that time of year again when i wish i had a grizzly instead of a 660 raptor. ive recently been hauling the deer cane, mineral blocks on my raptor 660. crazy huh,,, i used to have a bear tracker that i used for this sorta stuff. i sold it because it was to slow due to having to travel down several miles of gravel roads to get to my hunting spots. i now get there way faster but i have trouble hauling my goods. im getting ready to put a small piece of plywood across my back seat on my raptor 660. just so i can tie one back pack, one hunting blind, camo bike cover and a small cooler too. i will lay my bow across the back or straddle my gun and lay it across the handle bars. if i get a deer i will drag it to the nearest road and come by with my truck and load it. this is the only time of year i complain about the 660 just during hunting season. i wish they made a ute that had racks, just as fast, camo color, light as a 660 raptor and handled like one, and it could be taken anywhere my raptor goes and as fun. i got issues when it comes to the hunting season. i figured someone would get a kick out of this thread. anyone else have this problem? if you have this problem and know of any solutions on how you carry your geer with this kind of bike, please feel free to reply
raptor 660 with a few mods
12 tooth rear sprockets are great in the woods with nasty hills
bad for anyone behind you

Take your Raptor to a welder and tell him to make some small removable racks. You could probably get front and rear racks made for not too much $$. Front rack mounted to the bumper mounts and rear bracket mounted to the grab bar mounts. To carry much weight, you'd have to crank up the preload on the shocks.

i used to carry some big clippers and a chainsaw on my banshee when i was grooming this on trail way back on my property, i couldn't go very fast though, maybe 2nd gear on the real smooth stuff, but yeah, racks are sooooo nice when you have to carry that kinda crap.

if u can go on ebay and get another grabbar
also on ebay get a back rack for some utility quad
weld the rack to the grabbar
now u have a removeable back rack that should hold all ur gear
i did this when i made my wheelie bar

hey thanks guys for the ideas
my father inlaw has a welder and he loves to weld since he's retired, my minds smoking now with ideas, another friend of mine has two bent ute racks in his garage that he don't use, i believe im going to make a bolt on setup just for deer season, i just have a few things to carry and that would be great, ill still have the best of both worlds. ill just have to modify my bike just for the season, i get my shocks allready set on the strongest shock settings so it should not hurt nothing

He he he..........hunting with a Rappy. Now thats some funny stuff right there. If you are good enough you can pull up aside and rope a big 4 pointer. Then all you would have to do is tie him to the back of your quad and walk him home!!!
Like raptorblasterracer said, a rack should work fine.
Good luck on your hunt, hope you pack the freezer.

Go for it and get that rack built.
I've used my Mojave for years to get deer and boar out of the field Even pulled a elk with it Now, I have a z400 and will use it when I go hunting All I have to do, is make a hitch for my game cart
