PLEASE explain how to tighten a chain! trx250x
#1
Will someone please explain to me how on earth to tighten this chain. I cannnot find anyone who knows! I know you have to loosen the two hex bolts on the rear axle, and something about turning this thing next to the sprocket, but how! How do I turn the thing next to the sprocket? Do I hit it with a hammer? There is nothing inside of the little grooves to change anything, so what do I do? Just keep hitting it until it is tight?

The rear hub is cammed. As you turn it, it goes forward or back. It can get stuck in the swingarm, that is probably your situation. Try putting big channel locks on it and twisting.

If it keeps jumping off buy all new sprockets and a new chain. THere is not enough adjustment to fix worn sprockets and chain. Unless you remove a link. That is if its all stock.
