I got my KQ for plowing and mudding, now I want something for just pure speed and jumping. I'm kind of wondering if I should get a dirt bike for the speed. So what is the fastest quad currently avalible, I'm not talking top speed, I'm talking acceloration, 0-20, 0-30, 0-40+, and how does it compare to say a YZ125 dirt bike speed wise.

 

well if you want something for speed/acceleration and jumping,then either get a yamaha yfz450 or honda 450r,both are pretty much equal.As for compared to a yz125,the 125 will beat both of these in acceleration,but the 450's will catch up on top end.You will not be dissapointed with either the yfz or 450r,because both are fast and fun.

 

Could either of these quads you mentioned beat a YZ250?

 

i doubt it...try a filtered, piped, and jetted banshee, that may come close

 

If he said that they would not beat a yz125, then why would you ask if they could beat a yz250?? Im no rocket scientist but if they won't beat a yz125, i really dought that they would beat a yz250

 

He said that they would catch up on top end against the YZ125, so I was really asking if the YZ250's top end is good enough to where the quads would never catch up!

 

YZ250's go like over 80 for top end..theres no stock YFZ's or TRX's that go that fast..no stock quad goes that fast!


i wouldnt wanan go that fast anyways..i'd rather go 65 and have big ***** in the bottom end range

yea my friend has a RM250 and no quad around here has ever come close to beating it in a drag race.

 

My stock Raptor 660 may not gto over 80 but it will go 78.7 mph. I clocked it with a gps and this is with the stock 13 tooth sprocket as well. With a 14 tooth it will go over 80. I know top speed isn't everything, but damn it's fun on a fireroad running from the Forest Service or Game Warden. So yes stock bikes will hit 80.
