Could everyone help me. I am new to MXing on a 250R. I have ridden many four strokes, but two strokes are giving me a little problem. I can clear 40 ft tables and a couple shorter doubles, but i can't seem to harness the quad enough to go bigger, please help.

well if your used to 4-strokes just start where you started w/ 4 strokes. SMALL. do go out and try the biggest jump at the track. just start small and work your way up

POWERBAND is the key word man! I switched from a 300ex to a 250r (which seems to be what you are doing) and the first jump I tried, I endoed and about got hurt bad!
You gotta get used to having the power hit later than straight from teh bottom, at least on mine it takes a second before the power hits, then once it does, you cant be on the rev limiter, you jut have to learn right where to gas it at the top and you will FLY!
I can now jump farther, higher and faster with my R than I ever dreamed of with the EX.
Good luck.

I appreciate all your responses. I am learning slowly but surely. I tried a 45' double yesterday, and i cased it. Left paint on the jump. Went back and tried it again, and cleared it. I think i have the hang of the powerband now. Thanx for all your help!!!!!

4 stroke to 2 stroke is definatly a hard transition to get used to, every time I ride one I either dont hit it soon enough and endo or I hit it to hard and fly straight up, all you can do is just get used to the power dilivery

The KEY WORD is Throttle.......and more throttle.
Hit the throttle and hang on!!! Thats what I do. And it seems to be working. I busted my shock last race b/c I jumped so high. They didnt build they jump right and it shot me high up in the air. Didnt feel too good comin down but I saved.

So just hammer the throttle and try not to wreck.(the key to winning races)
