Default Thinking About Buying Recon...

Hey guys I'm Fixin to buy a new ATV in may, i looked at the Yamaha bruin 250,Honda recon, and the suzuki ozark. I also have thought about the Rancher 350 2x4,but its almost right out of my budget.
I weigh about 270lbs. and im 5'10" . I have rode the yamaha, and it had good power. I have not rode any of the other ones yet. so i have a few questions.

1.Which one do you think is the best atv?
2. which is the most powerful?
3. Do you know anything about the ozark?

I really do like the recon with foot shifter, the looks of the 05' and 06' are pretty awesome but i just dont know if it would be a great ride or not. any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

clarkeco,I just bought a 2005 recon and i love it.Always had honda so my opinions are biased but honda is the way to go.The recon is light and nimble, has the utility conveneince with the ability the have fun fishtailing and some small jumping.Had 2002 trx 250 sportrax but decided this time for something with racks cause ridin with a backpack stinks.I feel the recon is almost as nimble as the sportrax and the suspension is smooth, power is good in the low end but being a 250,if your looking for good top end speed, this isn't it.I way 185 lbs. and top end about 35 mph. but I do more leisurely riding with my son so speed not inportant to me.good luck with your decision and have fun.

You are to big for the Recon, by quite a bit! I am 5' 7" and 200 lbs., and I find the Recon is a kick to ride, because I can flick it around like a toy. But, I wouldn't want to do anything more than play riding on it..........it's just to small.

The 2wd Rancher is a real peach!

Just go to google and type in suzuki ozark review and you should find something. The Ozark is a great quad for it's intended purpose and can be ridden sporty (in a limited way). I think the atv connection homepage may have a review on it. I have the Z250, basically the same quad w/o the racks, and it serves me well.

yeah both the rancher and the recon are number one machines. The ozark has more power than mine but I don't like the quality of the ozark it is kindof cheep and I don't know if this is just my neibors ozark or what but his has been riden hard less than 10 time and it smoke just a little and does not idle very well but it was not broke in right or has not been serviced for the first time or anything, but it still does not seem to be of very good build quality.
