hey, i dont even have a quad yet, saving up. im trying to find a decent used quad for a guy my size (6'5", 205 lbs. 18 years old) for around $1,000-$3,000. someone told me to check out banshees, kfx400, predator500, z400, raptor660. i've been looking online but so far i've only found one dealership, RMC, you guys know any others around burien/seattle?

use dealer locator at the manufature web sites and you might also want to look into 400ex as well

1) Welcome to the forums!
2) Posting this in a more appropriate forum will net better results.
3) Try the Yellow Pages, etc
4) Any of those quads could serve you well. If you have little riding experience then I would look into the Z400 or it's clones, then a Pred and/or Raptor. If you have experience with 2-strokes and are willing to except the extra maintenance an older quad might need, try looking into a Honda 250R or Suzuki LT250R.

2-strokes tend to be a little more finicky and require a bit more attention, but you should be able to find a few nice ones in your price range. You will probably have to check the swap sheet/paper for a private sale.

'01 Raptors had a few notorious weaknesses(tranny) but by now most of the bad ones have been fixed.
Likewise the Pred has had real improvements with each new model year, the earlier ones can be had cheaply since they aren't nearly as desirable.

FWIW, Your best bang for your buck may be a 400EX. There are a ton of used ones out there in the $$ range you specified, and in general they are very reliable.

Good Luck shopping!

If you don't know clutch/standard get a KFX700 it's excellent for your size. If you are worried if that is too much for your ability, don't worrie just don't get ahead of you self.
