Joeygo....if ya stay till saturday we'll ride with ya.
I'll be there on Saturday along with my brother. The quads and motorcycle are going in the trucks and Dave's rail is going on the trailer. Sorry Don but that takes up all our room. If it didn't you could have certainly joined us. We are only going for the 1 day, kinda. We'll stay the night, get up in the morninmg. Go for a short ride or two and hit the road for home. If you do figure something out Don, let me know and we can meet up on the freeway someplace. We'll prolly head out of here around 4:30 or so Saturday morning.

Eagle,I'd like to stay longer but it's a NO CAN DO! The kids are away and the parents are gonna play.I've never been to any dunes before, Just got my sand tires and they are calling my name.

I'm really getting ready for the fall season to go to Dumont a few times but I just can't wait. So 1 day I'll have to be.

Maybe later in the season on a better thought out trip we'll meet.

Thanks for the invite

I hear ya there Joe. Since ya say that you haven't been to any dunes before. I have to say this about pismo. Prolly an OK place to cut your teeth on I guess. Here is the thing about pismo for me. California reaches air temps in the millions...lol well it seems like it any way. So we head for pismo at least once in the summer time. The place is small for sure. But you have the beach, babes and the fence line to run. If the drag area all the way in the back isn't too tore up...it'll do for a day Any way here is the deal With pismo, The dunes are small...but when you head into them from the water be carful. There are a lot of drop offs. The wind blows in from the ocean and because of that...blind drops. Once you get past them you'll find small rolling dunes. Good place to learn and play on the sand on a much smaller scale than most other duning places. Have fun, ride safe and we'll see at Dumont on Holloween

I just got back from Pismo! Boy do I have alot of things to discuss. Right now I'll just talk about the DS. And I'm talking about a bone stock DS. This thing has some power I'm running 22" Sand Stars with stock gearing and in third gear when it comes on the pipe. Boy does it move out.I don't think I even got to 5th. Out by the fence line it was really choppy. The DS really rides through this stuff good. most of the time I was in 2nd and 3rd. Just playing follow the leader with the wife(400EX) It handles real well too. I was able to carve in and out of the bowls with no effort. Some of the bowls though small. Had a steep face to them. I would just roll to the base and then crack the throttle and power up it. When I hit the top I'd clear it with wheels the front wheels in the air. For the first time out to the sand it was a BLAST.

Now I gotta UPGRADE! How about gearing? What does everyone run on a stock bike? 14 or 15 counter sprocket?

Ride On, Joey

Oh oh, some one has the itch!

Its sad really, we have a great time on a stock machine but yet we want more! Trust me, I know how that goes, we all do

With the 22" rears, dropping down 1 tooth on the front sprocket will help bring the gearing back to how it was stock.

Your reference to the DS "getting on the pipe" I think that term is really more directed towards 2 stoke quads as the pipe can determine where the power is placed. On a four stroke the exhaust does help place the power low or high, but the cams really have the most drastic influence in my opinion.
