Just curious who has done the exhaust mod on there atv and if it makes a big difference? Also, has anyone done this mod on the cat 400? I have an 05 400 cat that I would like to do the exhaust mod to and would like to know if I have to rejet as well? If I need to rejet, what kit do I buy and what do I use? Will the 06 400 pipe fit on the 05 400? What is a good after market pipe for my 05 400?

Whatever you do please don't make your quad any louder. In every State there are groups of people trying to ban ATV's off the face of the earth and modified exhuast is contributing to thier agenda. The tape recordings are very effective tools when played at the legislature. Unless your into competitive racing - the small and insignificant increase in HP will do little to change the performance of the average quad. Most people mistake increased noise with increased power. My lawn mower must be 100hp based on that.

 

The truth is there are several aftermarket exhaust systems out there that make more power and are quieter than even the stock one. But most people equate more noise with more power. A falsehood from the word go.

 

What kind of after market exhaust do you recommend and what jet kit/parts need changed. I agree with noise and people being upset with atv riders. I always respect others, stay on trails, and pick up trash while riding. Don't want to mess up a good thing. Some of the local trails have been closed because of abuse and neglect, then atv people complain that there are no places to ride!

I would like more pep from my quad like most that own the 400. I don't want a bigger one. If these mods work or there is something better let me know and thanks!!
