scrambler gearing
#4
it has been done by some, and others warn against it.
due to the fact that the front and rear gearing are matched from factory. of you change the rear gearing too much, internal stress could be caused in the transmission and cause premature failure.
you might do a search on this forum on the subject. you might find more indepth descriptions..
hope this helps...

what do you want to do??
lower gears larger tires ??
you can search around and find different fron diff gears to if you want to match up that way
I for example have put xplorer 400 front gears in my xplorer 250 so I could run 24 inch tires all the way around
the 400 had slightly lower front gears than the 250

Tire changing is going to be your best bet as I have never come across a way to change the front end gearing to match a sprocket change. If you want more low end power get smaller tires and if you want more speed get taller tires. Just make sure your fronts are an inch taller. I wonder if you could combine sprocket changes with different height front tires to compensate. You'd need someone with intimate gearing knowledge to get as close to the stock set up as you can.
