Default YFZ front shocks on Raptor.

I have read all the posts on YFZ shocks on Raptors. Everyone agrees it's the affordable way to go. What I would like to know from those who have them on your quad is do you like them? How do they feel on the trail? Are they super stiff at low speeds like they are on the YFZ? I can always re-sell them if I don't like them. Please give me some feedback before I buy. Thanks.

More than likely they will be a little smoother since tha RAPTOR weighs a little more.I think you have to mod the shock mounts a little to make them fit;I'm not sure.....

I have not had much seat time since i switched and have not really done any adjustments but so far they are incredible. It really is like night and day compared to the stockers. They made my front drop a little which helps in the turns and actually the a arms stick out a little more giving it a hair more width which the raptor needs. I did get to jump a little 4 foot kicker with a flat landing and jumped my cousins Honda 450 R and the raptor actually felt much smoother.

If you get yourself a 700R, they'll bolt right up like melted butter, that's one of the first things I'm changing.

Do you have to buy the YFZ shocks from a dealer? Or just wait for a YFZ owner to buy new shocks?

You can get them from a dealer, around $250, they're always on E-Bay, but I'd buy new, you never know how much actual time used shocks have on them.

Get works triple rates if you are on a budget. Keep checking ebay and you will find some barely used if you don't want to spend the $450 for new. Those YFZ shocks are too stiff. It ain't worth the trouble or the money.

Get Elkas if you don't mind spending the $$.

IMO

if i had those shocks i would mod em. i moded my 400ex stock shocks in my gourage.

now i sit at 7 inches of ground clearnce and can flat land at 6 feet of air.

it took cutting, grinding, bending, torching it, weldinding, and some burnt bloody hands and a brocken windo but now i can take off with out wheeling and jump with out botoming.
and it all came to a total of $00.00
