I've recently torn the boot on one of the outer CV joints on my 2000 500 manual Cat. I can find replacement parts on the internet just fine, but I'm wondering if this is a simple job to change them out or if it's difficult?

I found it to be fairly simple. Get a manual and there are good instructuions and pictures. All you do is pull the axle, disassemble the inner CV and slide boots off and on.

 

It's pretty simple really.....I did mine a while back and took some photos....here's the link....

Thanks for the effort I changed a CV Boot yesterday, save me time and some cash. I’m sure most are aware that the AC replacement boot has all the hardware including snap rings ect.
