I use Rotella (sp?). Easy to find, cheap and safe to use. No friction additives, very important with a wet clutch. Can be found at almost any Auto parts store or Wally World. In my Harley I use another good oil. Amsoil. A little more costly though.

i use rotella too, for the price, but when i start to go in my motor i'm going to use redline or some other very good oil. why spend the big bucks on the engine parts and put cheap oil in it?
Theres tons of info on this subject though if you search.....lol i live in the searching part of this forum.

My question is, what's not to use? I can understand the no friction additives for the wet clutch, but what about my B Quest 650 (not the same engine as the DS). It has a cvt tranny in it.
I use Quakerstate's synthetic blend. The one with the picture of the SUV on it. I've always used Castrol syntec blend in all my motors. Is it different? If not, anyone want to follow me up to canada to beat teh guys who have you fearing your motor will blow without THEIR oil?

Lvsparky, I have a 1600 with ported 042s, Scat 1.4 rockers and a few other goodies to help out. I have had this rail for over 18 years and over time its gone through a few changes. I even showed it twice and got a second in the 1998 Nopi finals. Every time I look at it I miss the dunes in Oklahoma were I use to take the family to ride. My children were 3 and 4 when I started taking them to Little Sahara.I see you are in Las Vegas, that is where my son is stationed at this time (Air Force).
