I have too much clearance from side to side on the primary clutch to belt. I havent measured it but its over .080. I have 10-58's and stock 55 gram weights. i use the 55's for 300 ft and 58's for dunes. How do you adjust the belt clearance side to side in the primary. New belt. Thanks.

 

This is with a new belt correct? If you want to adjust this you will have to split the primary adn reshim the spider. You would want to take our the differance.

 

To use the 10 series weights you need to replace the stock clutch bolt washer with the larger thinner snowmobile washer. That will push the outer sheave in a little and get the correct weight position. That may be your clearance problem you speak of. Also if the sheaves are worn where the belt engages then that will increase clearance.

 

no more than .020,and belt deflection at around 1 /1/8,
i use hot seat snowmobile washer spacer to get that tight clearance,
those are plastic spacer to be put between the clutch bolt and clutch cover to push it toward the rotor,they're 3 different wide spacer available.
