It kinda depends. You will never have huge speeds out of the piston port 244cc engine, but you can improve upon it by a great deal. Adding a clutch kit or even just a spring change, along with a pipe will increase its power a very noticable amount.
Contact RCR ( www.rittercycle.com ), HPD, Hotseat, or any of the other big Polaris performance specialist to see what they offer.
Personally I am not sure what is avaliable for the boss. But the Blazer has many kits avaliable, and it has the same engine as the Boss. I know RCR has a kit, and I think the others have pipes and clutch kits as well.

Push it off of a Cliff! Ha! Ha! Ha!! Just kidding. If you can I would buy a new bike. That's what I did, from Trailblazer to Scrambler 400 2X4.

Lurch is correct, contact Rick Ritter. I have a 95 and 99 TBoss. The 95 is stock, but the 99 has the RCR stage 1 kit installed. You may want to think of trying to reduce the amount of weight it has to pull. I installed Douglas .190 aluminum wheels with Holeshot XCT tires. Also removed the rear rack and installed a DG alloy front bumper and Moose Racing aluminum handlebars. I figure it has been reduced by about 40-45 pounds from stock and horsepower increased by 8 ponies. It will wheelie from a dead stop with throttle only and just about hang with my stock 400 Scrambler. So don't give up on it, and it will be alot cheaper than trading up to a Scrambler.

My 2 cents.

Coach

No, if you are going to tow it, don't use a banshee. You would want something with a little torque.
