I have driven over 200 miles with the ProCom reg/recitifier. These have been on the market for some time and I have not heard any complaints related to reliability. Their claim to horsepower increase by not charging all the time I could not tell. I felt because of a stronger spark to plugs I was able to jet up one size and that is where I felt I gained more power. The plugs have never ran cleaner.

I just returned from my garage. I have not started my DS since I was quading last sunday.
I pulled out the choke and hit the button, it started right away. For over 3 years I have never had it start this well. These units run for half the price of a factory unit. $50.00 vs. $100
I am not a dealer. Please call Wesley Zhou at ProCom, he is the head of engineering. 949-837-8183
Tell him your issues and if you can get the lowest ebay price and buy now. I am sure he will sell you at a good price and get it delivered quickly so you can get quading.
My son works for a large Bombardier dealer. If they knew a better way to get the older DS's to start, I am sure to have made those changes.
Let me know how things turn out.

I have not done anything electrically. The battery is a 2 year old Interstate. Not a dry cell.
I have used plugs that costs $1.25 to $8.00 each and have not found any difference in starting.
I recommend the use of dielectric grease on the connector for CDI and Reg/recifier.
Lots of water here in Wisconsin.

does this regulator bolt right up or do i need to make wiring changes..

also since your son works at bomb maybe you or him may know of some type of battery charger they told me about..

i think its called a tender, you just leave it on your bike when not riding and it wont over charge or damage the battery but will keep it fully charged

The ProCom unit is a direct plugin. Just take out old and put in new. 3 minutes.

The Tender JR.
Check local atv or motorcycle shops
or

I do not know of anyone local to me who has tried the Procom unit.
Most people do what I already tried, put a 03 unit in. It did not help as factory thought it might.

Call ProCom and talk to Wesley. Ask him if you can try it and if your quad does not start better,
could you return the unit and get a refund.
