Hey there everyone,
I just bought a new 05 Raptor a few months ago and already had an 04 Honda 450R (both stock). Last weekend I was at the dunes and someone with a Raptor was just smoking everyone in drag races, banshees and all even YFZ's. Might seem hard to beleive but he was unstoppable. I know he had LTE Dual Exhaust, but didnt have a chance to ask him what else he had done to it.
I have been wanting to upgrade my Raptor for quite some time to make it faster. Any suggestions? I want fast but not to expensive.

 

first off you need to realize no matter how much money you dump into your bike their is always going to be someone who is faster and better. A well built 686 will make your raptor compete with everyone on the hill for about $2k, then add in the exteneded swingarm cuz your going to need it and a set of haulers. And your looking at about $3k to make your bike a runner. Welcome to the forums

First thing you need to do is get yourself a excellent pipe, you might be surprised how much it wakes the raptor up.

 

a pipe, jets and a proflow kit would be a great way to get started, after that, you can buy a hotcam stage 2 and big bore that rappy and the extended swingarm for drag racing and some paddles

 

Be very careful in modifying your bike. It can & will cost money!!!!! It all will depend on how much money you want to spend.

 

What kind of pipe would you recommend? I heard a lot about those new LTE dual exhaust's and the white brothers exhausts. Everyone I have talked to were pretty happy with them on thier raptors. As far as jet kits are concerned I dont know much about them when it comes to tuning your carb for them and sizing them, etc....how does that work and what kind of setup is recommended for my needs. Thanks
