When you going to Dumont. Not until fall I hope??? It will be 108 degrees F out there tomorrow.

Sand robs power, and Dumont's dunes are huge. I would replace the MagaMax with a higher performence muffler, and maybe even a header (I have an FMF PowerBomb header and PowerCore IV on ours). An aftermarket air filter (UNI is my preference), and of course a rejet. Then, some paddle tires (my preference is the light buffed down Skat-Traks).

If you're going now the best thing you can get for your quad is an air conditioner!!!

If you are going to do Dumont, four more hours drive or so will get you to lots of other great places like Ocotillo Wells and Glamis! We also frequently ride Rasor Rd., which is near Baker, south of Dumont.

Usually in the hot summer months, we ride at high altitude in the cool local mountains or high Sierra (near Yosemite). But, once in a while we get restless for a run in the desert, so this is what we do http://forums.atvconnection.com/mess...did/463686.cfm

If you are going to ride in sand, get some paddles. Razrs suck in the sand. They are a great tire for most everything else but they are not designed for sand.

I would just go with the back. Im not real big on sand riding so maybe someone that is will chime in with their opinion on that subject.

shock covers will help too - at least keep the sand from getting into your shocks to a minimum.

a whip.

a 6 pack holder for beer.
