Complete Teardown of 03 Raptor?
#1
I am currently in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom III. Ill be home to Jersey in a couple months. I have a blue 2003 Raptor that has been sitting for about a year and a half now. Because I drive an H2 I will be gettin a streetbike for most of my daily driving until gas prices drop.
I want to Teardown the Raptor to the frame and powdercoat it myself. Does anyone have pictures or know a book that helped them through the process? I am doing this to make it spotless before I sell it. Thanks

I don't but, for a man risking his hide to protect mine, I will do some research for you. Are you looking for powdercoating only? Or, do you need a service manual for the wheeler? The service manual I have and could make a copy and send it to you.

Thanks ..... well the powdercoating I can do myself....its the process of tearing it down and cleaning it all up I would like help with. A service manual would be great! Also are there any special tools i would need? I am a electrician.....and have a good variety of standard and electrical tools....what else would I need. Im tryin to keep the price down since im selling it. Since I have the blue one...the plastic is what im replacing with either black or silver.

If you are just replacing plastic, basic hand tools will work. The sevice manual I have on CD rom. I will burn a copy for you. Don't you think disassembling just to coat the frame is a bit much considering you are selling? Anyway, I will send a private message with my e-mail address.

I want to tear it down because i want to really get it clean...plus its got the usual scuffs...Ive used the quad maybe 10 times since I got it new in 03. I wanna try and get as much for it as i can.
