Default Is $2500 for a stock $2500 440ex a good deal? Please help

Hi. I have found locally a guy with a 2000 400ex with the 440 bore kit on it. It is stock and in good condition. He is asking $2500 for it. The tires need replacing. Is this an awesome quad to ride in the woods and mud and is this a fair price ? What would be a steal of a deal price?

thanks

How did you find a '98 400ex????????????????????????????????????????????? ? You are a cowboy, not a guy that buys proto-types.

if it is stock other then the 440 kit that sounds like a deal you should look it over really good though because usually when people put a bore kit on there fourwheeler they also modify other things like the muffler and stuff so check it really well and make sure nothing is cracked if its in good shape I say go for it

The quad cost $5,500 back in 2000. This being 05, IMO, the quad would have to be low hours and in MINT condition to bring $2,500. Probably a $1500 (or maybe a tad more) quad you are looking at there. Who knows, maybe the older 400ex owners will follow suit of the oil people and set the price at 3 times what it's worth.....
