Hi. I have found locally a guy with a 2000 400ex with the 440 bore kit on it. It is stock and in good condition. He is asking $2500 for it. The tires need replacing. Is this an awesome quad to ride in the woods and mud and is this a fair price ? What would be a steal of a deal price?

Yea that is a good deal. They usually run for a lot more money. I doubt you will find a place sellin it for less and in good condition.
