If you engine seized, you would have skidded to a halt. Will the started still it turn over? I've seen plenty of 400exs running that didn't even read on the stick. Sounds like you are still reading the oil level on your stick, right? What if you screw it into the oil tank and take a reading. Does it register on the stick?

Try this first:

Change your plug
Change the oil
Check the gas Make sure it is on
Check your kill switch. Make sure it is on.

See if that works. Otherwise you may be experiencing bigger problems. Your EX may live through running low on oil once, but make sure and check it often.

I dunno if this is it but it is always worth a try... you could have sucked something nasty into your carb and its not getting any fuel, i would almost check the carb before jumping to conclusions that you ceased your engine, who knows it might work it might, Also the spark plug is a good thought cause i know if my bike gets a foul plug or its getting bad spark my 400 doesn't like to start, i have exsperienced this when i load my bike up and leave the choke and gas on and find out when i get to the dunes i got a bad plug and she won't fire, i dunno if any of these will work im just puttin my 2 cents in

i recently ran mine out of oil (long story dont ask!!!) it will still turn over it just wont run, when i took the oil distick out it was steaming,it didnt lock the wheels, it just ran at very low rpm then quit. not sure what it was, i am boring it out to a 426 and getting a Big Gun EVO X full exhaust and jet kit.
