Default Looking for high school ATV clubs

Hi all! I'm trying to start an ATV club at the high school I work at. My principal is entertaining the idea and I need to find out if any other high schools offer a club. I'd really appreciate hearing from any students or staff involved with one.

I really hope to be able to get something going with it at my school. We have a lot of kids that really enjoy fourwheeling and I'd love to hit the swamps with them. The hard part is trying to find out what to do about insurance concerns. My principal seems more than willing to go for it but we have to get the idea past the superintendent and liablility is always a concern. Of course, there's a ski club and there's plenty of liability with it. I marketed the club also as a place where safety, vocation training programs, ecology, and mechanics are emphasized. If it's a go, I plan to work with the auto shop teacher to have a place where we can modify quads, do maintaince and other things during club meetings. I feel that this will be one of the most popular clubs at the school. My principal is so cool that she said, "if we can do it, I want to get on one of them!" This goes to prove that you should give some of your teachers and other folks a chance because they are people too and may actually know how to have fun. I'm still looking for any clubs out there so if they exist, please let me know.

Thanks,
Pat

I work in a rural school and just about everyone has a quad. The parking lot's full of them during hunting season. Good people here.
