just got this 300ex...its all stock, but its no where near fast enough for me..what kinda little odds and ends can i get for it that will give it a little more power? I Have a 2 brothers exhaust coming for it but i dunno what else to order..anyone? and also, the thing wants to flip badly when i hit bends, will i notice a difference if i put on wheel spacers? (5 inch)

You can take of the airbox lid, rejet, and get a drop in cam all for about $140. I wouldn't get the wheel spacers if you plan of jumping real high. But otherwise they would probably be okay.

For 60 - 80 bucks, you can pick up a racing cdi from ebay, it will let you rev out more on top, also, you can find some 400ex a arms and shocks, you can widen the front end, and get about twice as much travel, you will just need to relocate the top shock mounts, you can get a kit off ebay, or if you are handy with a welder, make some of your own. A 2001 rear raptor shock will give you 1" more travel on back, and give you compression/rebound adjustment with a remote resivoir, a lot cheaper than an aftermarket shock. The stock exhaust is very small, with your new pipe coming, you can probably go up 1 or 2 jets on the main, and one on the pilot, Hondas are jetted pretty lean, and are cold blooded, jetting up helps a bit. Either put some holes in the air box lid, or run an Outerwears screen cover, that will keep the junk out while flowing like no lid. The stock set up only draws air in through 2 little frame tubes, so the air box is a major restriction. With my son's set up, the wider 400ex front end,and the 1.5 " spacers on each side on the back, it corners great, and takes rough stuff and jumps a lot better. I used to be able to leave him way behind on the trail, now he can keep right up with me. All this won't be too bad of a price if you watch ebay, swap meets, or nose around salvage yards for parts, or buddies who are upgrading and have stock parts they want to get rid of.
