Chokin' when Startin' and Idlin'
#1
A friend of mine...he he he...with an 89 TrailBoss (2 stroke) has noticed that after running the quad for an hour or so on the trails that when he shuts the quad down and later restarts, he has to turn the choke to full and hold the starter button down 5 to 10 seconds before the TB starts back up.
The TB sounds like its sort of choking until it finally fires up (<--don't know a good technical description).
TB runs fine after starting but does die easily when stopping along trail and trying to idle.
Any suggestions I can give my..ummm friend... on what he needs to adjust? THANKS!

I just had a similar sitiuation with a 400 Big Boss 6x6. I pulled the plug to have a look. I coudn't believe it was running at all. It was fouled up so bad, there wasn't any space between electrodes. Anyway, I cleaned the plug regapped it to .028". Now it fires right up.
The 6x6 was being used to pull implements around at slow speeds. If your friends quad is being ridden at slow speeds it may being fouling the plug just the same.
