I'm gonna get either a sport quad or a dirt bike for flat out speed and acceleration, I know dirtbikes are faster than these quads but how much faster? Put them in order in a 300ft drag race who would be 2nd and 3rd and how far ahead the yz250 would be .

The YFZ will beat the 700 in 300 yards, stock for stock. If you were to keep going though I believe that 700 will eventually catch up and pass the YFZ over a long period, but you can definatly plan on the YFZ being quicker in acceleration. The dirtbike is a totally different story, it will most likly beat both in a short drag by at least 1 er 2 quad lengths becuase it is much lighter. Why are you considering a dirtbike?

 

dirt bikes are usually cheaper, and I want to at least try two wheels to see if I like it, but if you really think these 2 quads would only be 1-2 quad lenghs back from a 250cc dirtbike than they must be fast. Do you have a 1/4 mile time for your raptor 700 or a 0-60mph time? Also why is the yz450 faster in acceleration than the raptor, raptor as a bigger engine.

 

roost is wrong, sorry buddy, i have a 06 raptor 700 and i draged a buddy with a yfz and i had no prob beating him off the line and though all the gears

the raptor wieghs 395, and the yfz weighs like 360

alot of yfz owners get pissy on this subject, cause the old raptor 660 the yfz had no probs beating, but not the new 700 is out they cant stomach that stock for stock now the 700 is gonna win

 

Have you raced any dirtbikes?

 

I have only drag some 125s, my brother is law has a yz250 and we have rode together a few times where we were there was no room to drag mainly trails, i have no probs staying on his *** on the fast parts
