You don't have to believe me sikraptor, but I'm seeing YFZ's beat them. We own an '06 700R also, and I think I know when I see a 700 lose to a 450. YFZ is faster in acceleration because it's much lighter and the engine revs much higher giving it better top end. In the end stock for stock they have about the same HP (35-38) but the YFZ's better top end and ligher weight helps it pull out in the short distances. Sure if you wanna race a mile the 700 will win, but in a 300 yard and other short drags the YFZ has it. The Raptor 700 isn't much more powerful than the old ones, maybe 1-2 more HP. Most of what seems improved is throttle response and low end grunt. The new 700's arn't head and shoulders over the old 660's in power output, but the improved suspension and a-arms are a HUGE improvment, I love it!
If your beating your buddy on his stock YFZ with your stock 700 in short drag races than he needs to practice his shifting and drag racing skills a little more. Oh, and the YFZ's weigh 350 lbs by the way :-P
I'm not pissy about the subject what so ever, and I could care less who wins stock for stock. I am just sharing the results that I have gotten with our 700.
*Toyeboy: Just because a quad has a larger engine doesn't mean it is going to be faster. There is alot of variables that go into winning a race.

LOL, well I put many lengths on a TRX450R in only 100 yds with my CR250R just last weekend in a standing drag race. A 300 yd race would have been a total joke. He did say he could smoke 125 2-strokes, which is probably possible, but the 450 quads have nothing for a 250 2-stroke or 450 4-stroke MXer.

We need more people like RoostItUp who now what their talking about and not some pedofile like sikraptor700. RoostItUp thank u for giving honest facts on this topic. The YFZ has the best accelaration and handling that no raptor can or ever will touch thats why I got YFZ instaed of a Raptor.

Quadman: Thanks! But he is just telling you what he has experienced while racing his 700, it's not impossible for a 700 to beat or even kill a YFZ in a race because of the large differences of rider skill and experience and I think this is what produces alot of the mixed results people see on these forums. The best way to get accurate results is If you have people that are very good at pushing both bikes to their max and hitting the shift points properly to race against eachother. Even then it's not gonna be exact, but pretty damn close
sikraptor: There's alot of people on these forums lol...don't let it get to ya to much
