I just put my stock carb and throttle back on my Bomb and I am having some problems. I have experienced this before, but I don't know what the fix is. When the throttle and cable are installed...the slightest movement of the cable makes the bike rev way up. I have tried to tighten the cable to the throttle but I am afraid I am going to strip the plastic pieces. Nothing that I do is fixing it. Is it a bad cable?

Could be a bad cable. It could olso be the way you have it routed. Try re-routing it and get as many tight bends out of it that you can.

 

I have it routed with lots of slack. It is not "snagging" on anything.

Have you tried clenaing it?

 

I have not tried cleaning it...but wouldn't it be "sticky" and not slide easily if it was really dirty?

 

You might try cleaning and lubing it and see if that helps.
