Outlander 400 vs. 800 mileage?
#2
My dad and I both have 06 models mine being the 800xt which i got 105 miles out of a tank and thats rideing double but was pretty easy riding. He has the max 400xt which does have a smaller tank gets around 90 miles out of a tank. Hope this helps.

I have been pretty impressed with the fuel economy on the 800. On our ride a couple weeks ago, I wasn't using anymore fuel than the Polaris 500HO and only slightly more than a Trailblazer 250.
We refueled before I was even close to empty, so I can't tell you how many miles per tank, but it is definitely better than my Sportsman 700EFI. I would think it would only get better with the next 500 to 100 miles.

I just put 55 miles of ***** to the walls riding on my 800 from a GNCC race and a 15 mile practice run. I have one bar left on the guage. Since it has a 5.3 tank and I allready have 55 miles is a good sign for me. If I can get over 10mpg racing, then it should get over 15mpg of regular riding and maybe near 20 of easy riding.

Excellent. Thanks guys, sounds pretty good. My friend is picking up his 400xt this weekend and I'm considering the 800. Just concerned about mileage between the two. I know that the Grizz swills its fuel in a matter of several hours, and that doesn't fly with me. The EFI runs efficient and makes a big difference I bet. Look forward to hearing more opinions as time goes by.

i replied to this on a previous thread and have checked it to day 37.4 mpg uk gallons ,which is 31.1 mpg us gallons if i got my maths right i actually bought 9.21 liters and had covered 75.6 miles at road speeds up to 50mph with road tyres on a outlander 400 max by the way the fuel cost £8.56 which should be about $15 ,i am intrested in getting the 800 max myself when it is released over here in jan 2006. an trade in my ds as i enjoy the ride of the outlander better but it screams its **** off about 50mph.the more reviews i read about the 800 the more i think i will get one. on friday having a go on a standard 800 at a dealers but only on a track as their are no road legal ones over here yet
