Street Bike Engine in a DS650
#1
What would be the largest displacement size street bike engine that will fit while still using the original DS fuel tank? I've seen 1000cc
stuffed in but the have to place the fuel tank in the rear. I would like to avoid this by maybe using a 600cc or 750cc engine and it could be carburated if need be if it will save space. It will be used on a street legal DS which will not be set up as a drag bike. I'm thinking 100 to 110 hp should move things right along. I'll post pictures as soon as it's close to completion. Currently the fabricator is installing Harley drag fenders in the rear and making the tail section look like a street bike.

I saw an older model suzuki 1300 engine-carbed and air cooled stuffed in the Frame( with extensive mods) but he did keep the gas tank functional and put out 100-110hp- it looked heavy he had a stock swing arm, badly geared but it ran.
