Is it coming from the carb overflow tube? Close the shutoff valve on the tank, and also check the oil level and sniff the dip stick to see if gas has gotten in there. If so change it before you ride ride it or very bad things will happen.
If you have these problems, the carb float valve isn't shuting off, putting a rebuild kit into the carb will solve it. Also make a habit to turn the gas off any time you're not riding.

May be time to replace the fuel lines. Wouldn't be a bad idea even if that's not where it's coming from.

ok, i am somewhat engine stupid, not completly but i have no idea how to check these things. oil is good but i forgot to mention that it is 2 stroke. one of my riddin buddies may be able to help me out if not ill have to take it to the shop. i usually always do shut off the gas when i am not riding. (made this a habbit because it used to leak there). what is the absolute worst that could've happened or is this it??????
thank ya,

your bowl in the card may be stuck and the gas is coming from the overflow.

2 strokes can fill the crankcase with gas, (OUTSIDE AWAY FROM ANYTHING YOU CARE ABOUT!!) pull out the spark plug and spin it over slowly with the kill switch OFF. gas will pump out of the spark plug hole is it's loaded. Many engines have a drain plug bottom of the crankcase for just such occasions.
Leaking gas is a very, very dangerous deal !!! The hospital burn units are filled with folks who took a casual attitude towards it.
Bottom is is SHUT OFF THE GAS when you're not riding it. Unlike sleds, gravity will drain the entire contents of the tank if a tiny little 10 cent part doesn't work just right. Your betting your life on it if your ride is in the garage attached to your house.
