Default I did it!

I finally talked my bro into getting an Outlander 400 XT for his wife and a DS 650 for himself. He had been looking into other brands and had rented a Scrambler and a TRX 450, and while there are some other good contenders in both classes, he decided on the Bombs. The only thing he would like that was lacking on the DS would be reverse, but after just sitting on some of the other brands and then on the DS, he found it would be better to forego reverse for comfort. I have to give credit to this forum for the info it provided me to pass on to him.

Excuse my ignorance, but is a Quadzilla a sport or a trail model?

Thanks~

no its a sport model. Im half kidding. They were made from 1987 to 1990. 500CC two stroke. basically the equivalent of the DS for its day. Large frame large motor. Its a good clip faster then a DS. I just sold my sadly to get a boat. (tears have been shed). check out my pics to see what one looks like

Just answered my own question about the Quadzilla. I will let him know there is another quad to consider.

Thanks.

Thanks CTATV for the info. He does not like 2 strokes, but I do!! I get pretty beat up on my Banshee on the trails, but it is still fun. Now if it was a little bigger and more comfortable....that sounds like the Quadzilla you described! Wow, a 500cc 2 stroke, I did not think there was such an animal, but I am fairly new to the quad scene.

Hey CTATV,

Man that sure was a nice Quadzilla.... sweet to bad you had to let her go.
I always wanted one of those big dawgs ....
I almost bought one back in 1987, 88 but it was just to expensive I opted to go for two 250R's instead for the same price.
Suzuki thought they were the top dog back then and the price reflected it even though they were.
For a two stroke this thing was DaBomb... or its equivalent .... in its day.
Your's sure looks sweet ... you did her justice and took good care of it.

My son said that the Quadzilla was a great bike, but getting parts for it could be tough at times. Apparently his ex-girl friends dad just picked one up, so maybe I will still get to ride one. CTATV, you sold your Quadzilla for about 1/2 what I have been quoted for a new DS 650. I am looking to get a DS 650 eventually, but since I have this rebuilt and upgraded Banshee, i will enjoy it for a while.

CTATV, incredable looking quad. It has a similar color scheme as my Banshee, but a lot better!

Too bad you had to sell it, but your SeaDoo Speedster should be a lot of fun. We see them on the lake here, but unfortunately because of the 40+ foot 120+ mph boats that now are dominate on this lake, it would be a hard ride at times. I had to sell my 19' Seaswirl that I loved, to pick up a 28' pontoon that can easily cut through any size wake, just so we could enjoy the lake again.

it does great in rough water just like a jetski. I love to take it out wave jumping. I use it in upstate NY on the St Laurwence River a lot and the tankers come through on there way to the great lakes every day. We go out and rip the big rollers all the time with the jetski and my neigbor owns the same boat as I just got. so ill be joining her with my boat this comming summer.
