YFZ450 backfiring..Plz help
#1
I have a 2004 YFZ450 that has been made into a CT 470 with a 13:1 piston. Put it in, re-jetted to a 45 Pilot 165 main. There is considerable valve noise, Bike is backfiring and won't idle. Will a valve adjustment cure this or is there another problem?

I brought it to a shop. They said the valves have been adjusted and the timing is correct but it is still backfiring. They think it is running way to lean and are going to put a 50 pilot and 185 main...This sounds like alot...any help appreciated.

the only way I know is plug a different one in. I have one you can borrow, if you can't figure out why it is backfiring and not running right. Also make sure the wires are plugged in that come out of the carb. your problem could be the TORs or TPS is not connected or out of adjustment.
