Default Tear in DS diaphragm

Hi- I just bought a Dynojet jet kit for my DS to help my HMF exhaust, but while changing the needle I noticed a v-shaped tear in the rubber diaphragm. I tried to ride the bike anyway, and the kit helped a ton in the midrange, but it will not wind out. Since this is a DS, you know that is a problem. I can't even get it to wind out in 2nd gear going downhill! I think this might be the problem, but does anyone know for sure?

BTW- I am currently running what seems to be the best setup- 190MJ, 3rd groove from top on needle, and 2 1/2 turns on fuel screw.

Thanks!

I just fixed the problem with some super glue- this bike has never run so well. I pulled out of the garage on a concrete driveway and almost landed on my head. 4th gear now does roll-on wheelies. I think I shat myself. I can't believe this thing was running so bad, I have a jump that I really had to work the bike to clear, now I can stop 20 feet before the jump and clear it with ease. Wow! I need to go ride!

Well since you patched it, have a good ride. I would think that replacing it would still be the best idea. I am not the greatest at mechanical stuff, but have read many Carb post and that part is brought up often. Enjoy the ride....

Replace it before you go anywhere, that superglue will not hold long.

Yep, I ordered one today, I figured gas would eat throught the glue. I am really just surprised how powerful this bike is. It hasn't run right for almost a year now, so it was a major wake up call.

Thanks,
Ben
