I need to get insurance for my 325 Trail Boss. Anyone know who has good rates for this type of insurance? Please let me know.

Hey Samantha,

I think you are the third person that I've seen in here that's from Indy. Welcome to the boards.

I pay about $80 per year, for fire , theft, and crashes. I don't think I'm covered for liability though. Probably ought to get full coverage.

I have mine through Nationwide. That's also where my cars, and house is insured. So I'm sure that has something to do with the rates.

Check out www.atv-line.com . They seem to have pretty good rates.

Is that a new Trail Boss ? Where did you buy it ?

Dave

I went with the insurance Polaris advertises. Pay about $180 a year for full coverage on a 400 Scrambler and a 325 Boss. Haven't made a claim yet, so don't know about service yet. The piece of mind of having the insurance is worth the cost!

Do you live in the country? We farm and raise cattle so I checked out insuring on our farm policy. It seems that a 4-wd atv qualified as 'farm use equipment' and a low rate. I pay just under $4 per $1000 value which makes it about $20 a year to insure it. Also, since it is 'farm equipment' it is covered in out blanket liability policy. The drawbacks - covered only for theft, fire, or damage with a $500 deductable. I figure if someone steals it, $500 is cheap, but if it gets wrecket to the tune of $499, I'm on my own.

ATV-Line was the most economic for my Sportsman. I got quotes from everyone for full coverage, ranged from $200 - $400. ATV-Line was $ 103 per year. Know the question is how hard is it to file a claim? I can not tell you this but, the price was nice.

The best thing you can do is to price shop. My local agent has come up with about the best prices. I think the insurance is with Midwest Mutual. The cost is a function of the area you live in and your age. The area is based on the theft rate in your area. The age affects the accident rate. Try the www.weinsurefun.com This is the one Polaris recommends. They will give you free quotes.

Progressive gave me a quote of $915 per year! I told them they were uot of their minds. Erie insurance quoted $550. I asked them to check under a different code and that brought it down to $142 for full coverage except funeral costs. A friend has the same insuance that's how I knew to ask them to enter it differently on the computer. Make sure to shop around. By the way, nice to see another woman around here!
