Faster - Blaster
Durability - 250ex
Reliability - 250ex
I'd buy the 250ex...I think it handles better, is much much more reliable, and is fast enough to be fun. Blaster just feels like a really small kiddy bike.

The blaster is the overall better bike, and the power differentiation is ridiculous. Its a better comparison to a 300ex and the blaster is still more powerful than that.
While it may not handle the best out of the box, its still a great machine. And replacing those balloon tires will do a lot.

A new Blaster with a few modifications is a good starter for a wide range of new riders. That is what I got for my GF to learn how to ride a 2 stroke on. She has only had a 1990 fourtrax 200 until this. Which do you think she has more fun on? Check out the pictures...

from my experiences the blaster is way faster in accelleration and top speed, imo it handles pretty good, put on a pipe and silencer and your ready go, honda 250ex-slow compared to the blaster, not much you can do with the it handling wise, its got a diffrent swingarm/rear suspension setup which doesnt allow you to do mod with out great lengths and money. your better off with the blaster if you looking for a start off bike. Its over all better enough said.
