Default Honda ATC 110

I recently bought a early 80's Honda ATC110 that didnt run. I got it running, but the transmission is very sloppy. It likes to kick out of gear when backing off on the throttle, especially in higher gears, or in low range. I also have trouble shifting into higher gears. I got it primarily for dragging deer, but in low range i can barely get it up the hill without it going into neutral a dozen times. Is there any hope? Any advice would be great. Thanks

Welcome to the forums. It should never pop out of gear. You might have a problem with the automatic clutch or you need to rebuild your tranny.

Im not to familiar with it, what would all be involved with rebuilding the tramsmission. Also is it worth the cost? what do parts run these days? thanks

I have never done it myself. PM ThrashandCrashUntilitsTrash. He can probably help you out in that area. Just go down to his reply on this POST. Select the little lock to the upper right of his reply. Just leave him a mesage. He is really good at replying quickly.

You have to split the entire engine in half (basically) to get into the trans if it is a gear problem (that is what it sounds like). The cost is TOTALLY up in the air; It could be $40 to $200+ all depends what you find when you open it up. If you do it yourself or find a person that likes to do them on the side, for real cheap (like me) then it can be well worth your time and money! Thanks for the "plug" JkAss! hi if it is popping out of gear that means the the shifter is wore out so its not going into gear all the way it will drive but the gear will slip off because of that
