Hi all,

Broke the chain on my 99 500 HO. bought a new chain from the dealer, and noticed that I should change the rear sprocket.

Is there any source for sprockets other that the dealer? $50.00 plus for a rear sprocket seems really high. Parts for my other ATV's (honda Suzuki) are much cheaper and I can use aftermarket parts. (renthal, Sunstart etc)

Is there a cheaper source out there?

rocky mtn atv has them for $14.99 but it depends of what size you need. they dont carry the 36 tooth for some reason.

what are you running? Is a 38t going too high of a ratio? I wonder how bad it will hurt the top end?

 

i run the stock 36 tooth sprocket. i have been told by several people that you dont want to mess with the gear ratios on the 4x4. it will cause excessive wear in the gearcase. so i run the stock size.
