Trail Boss pep
#1
My father in law has a 2001(?) Trail Boss 325 and would like to get a little better throttle response and more pep out of it. Not trying to make a sport quad out of it but maybe a K&N filter and some kinda different exhaust. Bolt on type stuff. Any ideas. I don't see much about these in this forum but I see alot of them on the trails. They can't all be stock can they?

Talk to Rick at Ritter Cycle about a stage 1 kit. By far the most economical upgrades out there. You'll have to call him, he gets too busy to answer his email, but he can always be reached by phone. There are several of us on here who have used him, don't think anyones been disappointed yet.

I looked at the link but didn't see anything on the 325 motors. Is the stage 1 kit a combination of things or what? I like how he has got the exhaust matched up with recommended clutching. I may check him out in the spring for my scrambler.

rick, With a kit like that how much louder is the exaust, and is there any useability decrease. My father runs a 325 as well but most of the time he uses it for pulling a waggon with firewood or towing the sweeper/thatcher for the lawn. Sometimes i get him to come out riding with us and id love to get him a nice little pep up for a christmas present but if its louder or changes what he already does i know he wont be down for it.

It will be louder . I don't think he will like that at all .
Your best bet is to put in a 414 bore kit , it sells for $430 comeplete . Leave all the rest stock so it will be quiet and father in law will be happy .
