Default clunk while plowing-> lost 4x4

I need help! the snow is piling up fast! 1996 425 Magnum
I was pushing a blade full of snow last night, heard a hard clunk down by my right foot (or somewhere clost to that area) and then my 4 wh drive wouldnt work. I'm sure its not the hubs, and the 4x4 light works.
Can anyone offer an idea where to start tearing into?
Thanks!

Check the chains and sprockets for the front drive, the center chain is behind the black cover by your right foot....

my plan is to jack up both ends, remove the chain guard, start it up and put into 4x4, I suspect the front output shaft is not being driven...... anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks for all the input - I need all the help I can get !!

Does anyone know any reasonable and honest polaris mechanics in Michigan???
