What's up with the Bomb 800 reviews?
#1
So Dirtwheels pits the Bomb against the big Polaris 800 and basically castrates the Bomb in it's review, biggest complaint seems to be the handling. No contest, the Polaris is the clear winner in all areas. Now ATVAction has done a Bomb 800 vs BF and praises just about everything on the Bomb - including handling. No contest here either - they basically let you know that the Bomb by the third paragraph.
They are both pretty much the same magazine - sharing among other things a common list of test riders. The only set up difference of the tests was that the Bomb/Polaris test was slanted to carrying weight on the racks. I just can't see a review giving results that are so far apart on the scale. Does a little bit of rack load make that much difference on the Bomb? Or did they get one with faulty suspension?

dont believe dirt wheel magazine, the bomb is the best big ute out there. I just bought one and have been riding my boss's 800 off and on for the last 6 weeks, they are amazing quads!!!! I would never own a polaris 800 being 150 pounds heavier!!!

Diff strokes 4 diff folks. Just like cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc, etc! Ive had Honda quads no complaints, Yamaha quads not too many gripes there,Honds are tuff and reliable too. My 700 so far I love hope it continues that way. My friends used to all ride Polaris , now they ride the Kawasaki 650 & 750's. Pretty tuff machines too. Have not heard any grips to amount about the Bomb 800 either. We ride the creeks ALOT and for hunting. Buddy of ours just got a Bomb 800 seems to like it too. No Bashing , there are ALOT of great quads out there. Mostly a matter of preference on who like what and their use for 'em! Take Care!!

I rode a friends new 800 Outy last week, i was not impressed. Thought someone told me they have a 10 hour break in chip, I hope thats true. It didn't ride, handle or run as good as my neighbor's 800 Sportsman. I'll be keeping my DS.

The 10 hours break-in chip is correct. Dirt Wheels is smoking something. And yes, the Bomb is THE big bore on the block. I've ridden all of the Big Boys, and for my riding style (aggressive SPORT utility) the Bomb is just that. Game Over. All it needs is a seperate front brake.

You guys need to get your own opinions, all the magazines just write the good review for the company that gives them the most stuff to play with and not the truth. the best place to get a true review is from real people on this site that have rode the different machines in question, real average people, not pro motcross racer rating a trail quad or a ute. this is where the truth is.

I've rode them both and I like the Polaris 800,BUT,you sure can feel the extra 120lbs of weight in tight technicle trails ect.And the Polaris aint giving you a 5 yr warranty either for FREE.With that in mind,I dont regret the purchase of my BRP 800 for a second.

I'm no pro mx-er! I am completely Ute oriented and defend my stance on the Bomb. My riding skillz are expert/Ute mod on the GNCC level and that is all. Enough about that. I like the Pol's, just not as much as the BRP. My problem w/ the Polaris is the power delivery-not linear. Also, the width and suspension quality bugged me. For those that like to cruise and take the ride at a leisurely pace, I whole-heartedly recommend the Pol'. For those that like a more "spirited" ride-BRP! We are all entitled to opinions. And no, all aren't bought. Leave it at that.
