I have a 98 sportsman 500w/ebs,supertrapp exhaust, and a k&n filter. What can I do to the clutch to improve its bottom end and midrange for trail riding?

The easiest thing would be to change the primary spring. Cheap (about $20) and you can do it yourself, really easily. Which spring you want will depend on your riding style. For a bit of a boost, try the white, and to really rip, try the green. I tried both on my Xplorer and decided the green was almost too severe for mild trail riding & went with white. To see what difference it did, check any posts with spring change, white spring, or green spring in the title. There are a bunch that can tell you more than I can.
