I bought a 1984 atc 200M for 5 dollars. i am not sure of the engine condition other than the seller said it ran and it was parked and sat for almost two years before i purchased it. Downside it has NO key for the switch is there a way i can buypass this while i work on the trike? I have already changed oil and drained the tank what else should i do before i try to crank it? PLEASE HELP thanks

Take carb appart and clean it out. Change spark plug with new one. Clean air filter, check for mice nest!!!! OIL chain (if chain driven) change gear oil (if shaft driven) Get a new battery.... And yes you can bypass key switch. You can either use a screwdriver as a key!! (quite easy) or cut the wires, keep the light switch ON, and touch different wires (I think there is 3 wires: black red and yellow) until you see the back light flash. Or get a wiring diagram and connect + with -.

Not a good idea to talk about how to hot-wire something on an public thread. Contact your dealer about the key, they can help you out.
