The H1 vs other big bores
#1
Hey guys,
I'm really intrigued by these Arctic Cats and the great things everyone's saying about them. I'm an open-classer all the way, so I'm debating on my next purchases. I need two new quads by next spring, I was thinking along the lines of a Bomb 800 and a Suzuki 700. But now I got this strange intch for an H1 by reading these forums. Are they as great as they are made out to be? Do they even compare with those in the 700-800 FI class? Heck, the 650 class is second-biggest by most manufacturers, so can the H1 keep up?
Has anyone compared the H1 to either the Bomb 800, King 700, or Sportsman 800? I'm interested in trail feel, mud ability (I'm sure I already know the answer to this one), and over handling and power. Please help me here guys!
Also, can I get some opinions on reliability compared to those models.
Thank-you in advance.

With the ground clearace on the H1, it will out mud anything out there with the same tires on it. In 2006 the clutch had an upgrade and is worth the difference. It will be noticable slower on the trails then the KQ or Bomb 800, but will hold its own just fine in the mud. It is solid, with little problems. I ride with a guy that has a 2005 arctic cat 650v2. He had 28" ITP 589's and was the best mudder among us. Now he has apparently put on some of the new ITP mudlite 30" tires, so he should be able to clear standing trees......lol. IMO, the arctic cats are the best mudders due to their ground clearance.
