especially if you live in CA. If the vin has a 1 or a 3 in the 8th place of the vin, then it is a RED STICKER bike and there isn't one thing you can do about it

Even the new suzuki king quads are being red stickered because of the 1 or 3 in the 8th place on the vin.

so, if you are buying new.........BUYER BEWARE..... cause the slimey salesman won't cover your A$$, he'll try to plug it!!

 

WHAT DOES A RED STICKER MEAN ?

 

Boy do I wish I didn't know. Here in Cali a Red Sticker is limited to the places and the times of year that you can ride. Especially in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, where most of us live buy the way, and up in the San Jaoquin Valley, where the air quaility usually sucks, you cannot ride from about March thru November. Some places are restricted year round from red stickers and more often than not they were only on 2 Strokes. The majority of the National Forrest System out here is red sticker off limits.
