Default What do you use to tension your ATV tire chains?

I slipped on my tire chains last night to verify they would fit. Do most just use a couple of short bungee cords to tension them up? Is there some other cheap & easy method that works better?

Thanks,
HS

Something I always do is let some air out of the tires, tighten the chains up by a link or two, then inflate the tires again. This will get the chains real tight and you shouldn't even need the bungee cords. Just be careful not to tighten the chains up too much or they may deform the tires.

i usually just use a bungee. a medium sized bungee that is threaded around the chain on the outside of the tire works well. run the chains for a short distance and tighten the chains a link or however much you can get. when adjusted well i usually cut the tails short enough so that they cannot damage anything on the atv. (i always hook one end of the tension bungee in the outside tail to keep it from flailing around).
